It’s London Fashion Week – Gecko’s sticky feet started their days in the glamorous world of the fashion business, so we always have an interest… sadly we don’t receive invites, but it seems Stylist Mag does!
Their review of the invitations is interesting – some of the invites are definitely better conceived than the garments on the catwalk!
Gecko’s personal choice? We love the Clements Ribeiro invitation.

Gecko, loves the fact that everything ‘vintage’ is very of the moment right now – with Downton Abbey, the House of Elliot, The Hour, Upstairs Downstairs, Ashes to Ashes, Mad Men, and more there’s been no end to the fabulous fashions to watch on the TV.
Last week Westfield, Stratford, London launched and it took the vintage theme for its great video on youtube – which of course gained masses of editorial

During a visit to our local Waitrose, Gecko was delighted to see that Moo Free was on the shelf!
And, it was obvious that people had been buying the delicious Moo Free chocolate drops and Moo Free chocolate bars too!
We couldn’t resist – so we bought some of this fabulous dairy free chocolate too as a little treat – yummy!

Hobbs Oxford
Yesterday Gecko went to Oxford – not to admire the Dreaming Spires of Oxford, but for the exclusive launch of the, vintage inspired, 30th anniversary collection at the Hobbs store, as a guests of Hobbs’ lovely marketing ladies.
Freixenet Sponsored the fizz
Freixenet sponsored Hobbs events in 72 of its stores nationwide – which is part of an ongoing partnership that has worked well for each brand. We had a lovely time, the team there are great and the collection for autumn/ winter 2011 to mark the 30th Birthday is fabulous! Lots of vintage inspired pieces from Jackie O neat suits and cute 60s styled a-line dresses to funky leopard print platforms and sexy Emma Peel boots… and some great prints.
We wandered around the store with the other guests (30 at most per store) tried on some clothes and loved all the shoes – there was a raffle to win a pair of shoes at 1981 prices which was very exciting!! And, we were of course treated to a glass or two of Freixenet bubbly – which the other shoppers enjoyed as well! And we left with a goodie bag too.
Shoes, shopping and fizz!
A lovely way to spend a Tuesday evening – with thanks to the team at Hobbs!

Freixenet Elyssia Pinot Noir
Hammy Hamster and his friends at Moo Free are celebrating, because this week Moo Free chocolate bars began selling in Waitrose.
Dairy free, soya free, gluten free, organic and supporting fair trade too, Moo Free chocolate is yummy – and now you can get your paws on it in 91 stores across the nation!
St Pancras - Stairway to the Stars
The Gecko team loves great architecture – and we found it when we visited St Pancras station.
The recently opened, magnificently restored St Pancras Hotel is incredible and a joy to wander round. Obviously, after enjoying this beautiful building we had to stop for refreshment. So, we visited the Gilbert Scott Bar (as featured in You Magazine over the weekend). We enjoyed a glass of Cornish bubbly and some peppery popcorn in fabulous surrounds.
Just fantastic!
Caro Emerald At The Jazz Club, Camden
Often work isn’t very glam – but sometimes we get to do some fab things at Gecko. We’ve been speaking to the agent of Caro Emerald (of Riviera Life and That Man fame) recently – so obviously felt we should go to see Caro’s first gig in the UK, it was fabulous. In the intimate surroundings of the Jazz Club she had the eclectic audience, dancing, singing and smiling – lots!
Afterwards it was great to say hi to Caro and the band.
